Community drum circles

Over the last year I had the privilege to introduce the joy of playing on drums and percussion instruments to unpaid carers and the person they care for, to people living with dementia (with Together Dementia Support), to an early intervention group for people experiencing first-episode psychosis, furthermore to families who are going through difficult times. I am incredibly grateful for these opportunities, this is what I am really passionate about! As a result, drum circle has become a regular event within the Carers Manchester South service, and I had the chance to collaborate with wonderful community art organisations, such as String of Hearts. Drum circle is such an enjoyable and powerful way to connect with each other, to express ourselves and to improvise that anyone can participate in it no matter of age, disability or cultural background. It is an invitation for dance, singing and playfulness. I am hoping to spread the joy of rhythm to even more communities in the future. :)
